Emergent

Ages: 1-6

Grades: Pre-K - K

The emergent stage is where kids explore and learn the fundamentals of reading and writing. They start connecting written words to spoken words. They also learn the functions of different kinds of writing, like a grocery list or a book.

    • Point out repetitive words

  •  Use songs to develop rhyme and alliteration

  • Letter of the day. Focus on one letter and point it out throughout the day.
